About Me

I’m Anne Chauvet. I’ve spent my whole life in the Central Valley, which means I grew up knowing that the best food in California doesn’t always come with valet parking. Sometimes it comes from a truck on Blackstone, a strip mall in Clovis, or a counter with six stools and a line out the door.

By day I have a desk job full of spreadsheets and deadlines. This site is the opposite of that. No stars handed out to be polite, no fifty-word menus of adjectives. I tell you what I ate, what it cost, and whether I’d go back.
